Herron reaches win No. 700, Washburn volleyball starts the season 4-0

GOLDEN, Colo (KSNT)- It was quite the weekend for the Washburn volleyball program.

The No. 22 Ichabods opened the season 4-0 in the Oredigger Volleyball Classic.

Washburn beat Colorado Christian 3-0 and South Dakota Mines 3-0 on Friday to open up the weekend. The team followed up with a 3-1 win on Saturday against Davenport and a 3-0 win against Valdosta State.

Amongst the successes, head coach Chris Herron reached career victory number 700 at the Division II level, becoming the seventh active DII coach to reach that mark. He now sits at 703.

The Ichabods had three players named to the 2025 Oredigger Volleyball Classic All-Tournament Team: Alex Dvorak, Keilah Rivers, and Brynne Topolski.

Washburn will return home and host the Washburn Invitational beginning on Friday.
