Auburn ranked for first time since 2021, Tide rises in latest AP Top 25

(WHNT) — The long drought for Auburn fans is finally over.

The Tigers who have been unranked for the last 46 months come in at No. 24 in the latest AP poll. Auburn’s last appearance in the poll was in 2021, the Tigers fell out after blowing a 28-3 lead to Mississippi State in what ended up being Bo Nix’s last appearance with the program,

Auburn is off to a 2-0 start on the season after beating Baylor and Ball State in the first two weeks of the season. The Tigers will welcome in South Alabama Saturday.

The Alabama Crimson Tide bounced back from a Week 1 loss to Florida State with a win over ULM in Week 2.

The Tide rose in the poll to No. 19, up two spots from the Week 2 poll. Alabama will host Wisconsin Saturday.

In total, the SEC has 11 teams ranked in the top 25.
