As of 7:40 p.m. Friday, the Salt Fire was reported at 20% contained and 22,488 acres large, growing about 5,000 acres since yesterday. Most of the growth could be seen toward the south, but runs to the northeast have spurred new evacuation orders.
Evacuation orders are now in place for zones: MRY-G041-A, P18B, P24B2, P25, P27A, and P28. Evacuation warnings are also in place for zones: MRY-G041-B, P18A, P24B1, and P27B.
Road closures are now in effect for Parkfield Grade at State Route 198 and Jacalitos Creek Road at West Lost Hills Road. South Merced Avenue at Lucille Avenue and Oak Street at Parkfield Coalinga Road in Monterey County are only open to residents.
