A Boone County woman has been arrested for attempting to grab a girl and pull her underwater at a Harrison motel and threatening to beat her; and then kicking and spitting at responding police officers. Facing three charges, including one felony, for the incident is 39-year-old Michelle Renee Evans of Harrison.
According to the probable cause affidavit from the Harrison Police Department, the reporting party told officers Evans had attempted to grab her minor daughter and pull her under the water while threatening to beat her. The girl told police the woman had started cussing at her and friend for no reason and then grabbed them by the legs and tried to pull them under water.
When the officers arrived, Evans was passed out on the ground next to the pool. Officers noted she smelled of intoxicants and a bottle of vodka was on the table next to her.
Officers were able to get Evans up and asked her to blow into a portable breathalyzer, but she refused. They then started walking her to a patrol car and she started kicking and not cooperating. At one point she kicked one officer and spit towards another officer.
Due to her level of intoxication, Evans was taken to North Arkansas Regional Medical Center to be cleared before she was taken to the Boone County Detention Center.
Evans is facing a felony charge of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer along with misdemeanor charges of third degree assault and public intoxication. She is free on $10,000 bond.
