Three dozen people displaced by Berks fire

READING, Pa. (WHTM) — More than three dozen people were displaced after a fire in Berks County Wednesday morning.

The Pennsylvania Rivers Chapter of the American Red Cross say they’ve assisted 38 people — 28 adults and ten children — after a multi-apartment fire on North Fifth Street in Reading.

Their Disaster Action Team responded and has opened a temporary evacuation center to assist displaced residents with comfort, care, resources, and other assistance.

Red Cross caseworkers will continue working with each individual and family to develop recover plans.
