Man accused of manslaughter after shooting incident left 17-year-old dead makes initial court appearance

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — A 23-year-old who is accused of a shooting incident that left a teenager dead made their first court appearance on Wednesday.

According to CPD, 20-year-old Antoine Finch, was taken into custody on Tuesday after the shooting incident that happened on Friday in the 1700 block of MLK Blvd.

A 17-year-old died in the incident, as authorities say the shooting was possibly an accident when a firearm reportedly went off and he was struck in the head.

Finch is currently charged with involuntary manslaughter and reckless conduct. He pleaded not guilty in recorder’s court on Wednesday.
