By Wednesday the moisture will have deepened in southern Utah, increasing the potential for showers and thunderstorms, but they’ll be isolated and brief. Temperatures will begin cooling into the mid 90s for St. George and mid 80s for southern valleys. The north should stay dry and warm with partly cloudy skies and temperatures still in the upper 80s to low 90s.
Isolated thunderstorms hold onto the south for Thursday while a few showers creep their way into the central and northern mountains. The Wasatch Front looks to be dry through at least midweek with a mix of sun and clouds, but that pattern also changes by the close of the workweek. Moisture pushes further into the state on Friday, bringing isolated thunderstorms to northern Utah while southern Utah deals with more scattered activity.
This upcoming weekend looks much more unsettled than last weekend as showers and thunderstorms engulf most of the state and temperatures drop below average. Daytime highs this weekend will be in the mid 80s for most valleys, and upper 80s to low 90s in St. George. Conditions will begin to lighten up by Monday, but moisture will still spell isolated showers for a good portion of the state.
