Lin, 37, announced his retirement from professional basketball in a heartfelt Instagram post, saying he lived out his “childhood dreams.”
Since his last NBA stop in 2019 with NBA champion Toronto Raptors, Lin has bounced overseas and played for the Taiwan Professional Basketball League (TPBL) various clubs in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA).
He last played for the New Taipei Kings (TPBL) and won the league’s 2025 championship.
Lin’s NBA career spanned from 2010 to 2019, playing for Golden State, New York, Houston, Los Angeles Lakers, Charlotte, Brooklyn, Atlanta and Toronto. He went undrafted out of Harvard and played his rookie season for the Warriors.
Lin attended Palo Alto High School and helped lead the Vikings to a Division II state title in 2006.
