NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — New Orleans Police are searching for a missing woman Sunday, Aug. 31.
According to the NOPD, 30-year-old Yandra Gomez went missing Sunday. Her family discovered she was missing from her residence in Algiers around 8:30 a.m. Gomez’s family is greatly concerned for her safety because she is intellectually disabled and has medical issues. They only recently relocated to New Orleans, so she is not familiar with the area.
Officers are actively searching for Gomez. They are canvassing the area, knocking on doors and requesting support from neighboring districts. Police said she may be wearing a pink-colored backpack.
Anyone with information should contact NOPD by dialing 911 or 504-821-2222.
