Pokémon TCG: Where to Buy Chaos Rising, Preorder Updates, and Prices
Pre-orders for Pokémon TCG: Chaos Rising are starting to bubble, following the official announcement of its release date – May 22, 2026.
If you want to get your hands on this set, speed is of the essence; updates on pre-orders, knowing the price ahead of time, and where to buy can give you a fighting (type) chance.
Chaos Rising is the third Pokémon TCG set in 2026, continuing Pokémon TCG’s spotlight on Mega Evolution Pokémon. Previous sets have featured Mega Charizard, Mega Lucario, Mega Venusaur, and Mega Zygarde.
This time, Mega Greninja ex takes center stage in Chaos Rising. Considering the popularity of this Generation 6 Pokémon, it already feels like this new set could be even harder to get your hands on than usual.
We’ll be regularly updating this page with confirmed deals, so bookmark this page, keep checking back in, and follow @IGNFinds on Twitter/X for the latest updates.
While preorders aren’t currently live, we have a good idea of where the best deals will be, based on previous releases. Bookmark this page and keep checking back, we’ll update you as soon as pre-orders go live.
If you don’t manage to get lucky at the standard retail offerings, you can always check out TCGplayer – a reputable third party reseller that will offer preorders. Unfortunately, you’re likely to pay extra here due to the third party sellers looking to capitalize.
MSRP for Chaos Rising is approximately $49.99-$59.99 for the Elite Trainer Box (ETB). If you can’t secure a preorder, it’s likely you’ll be paying inflated costs due to demand at resale markets like TCGplayer or eBay.
The Chaos Rising ETB is a great all-rounder if you’re looking to boost your chances of pulling a specific card, or completing your collection as quickly as possible.
It includes 9 Booster Packs, 1 Full-Art Foil Promo Card featuring Fennekin, premium accessories like 65 card sleeves, 45 Energy cards, a player’s guide, and competition-legal dice/markers.
The official write up for Pokémon TCG Chaos Rising shows Mega Floette ex “wreaking havoc as night falls in Lumiose City.” This tracks with the story events of Pokémon Legends: ZA, so be sure to finish it before this set releases!
Other powerful Mega Evolutions in focus include Mega Greninja ex, Mega Pyroar ex, and Mega Dragalge ex.
It feels like a particularly heavy chase set, including:
As someone who collects cards for their artwork, I’m particularly interested in the ultra rare Mega Evolution Pokémon ex featuring silhouettes of their original forms. I imagine this fun visual style will drive prices of individual cards into the triple digits.
Walmart is infamous for the videos of people fighting over the last ETB on the shelves, but you can check out pre-orders online if you want to avoid the launch day rush. For the best chance of securing Chaos Rising at Walmart, you can subscribe to Walmart+ membership for $98/year ($12.95/month) membership. With this, you get free delivery from stores ($35 minimum), gas discounts (10¢/gal), and Paramount+ or Peacock streaming. Not bad!
Best Buy often lists Pokemon TCG sets as ‘Coming Soon’, launching pre-orders later than most retailers. The issue is, a lot of people know this already, so it’s a popular ‘final chance’. Still, it’s worth checking out – someone has to get it! If you have a local Best Buy, you can select “Pick up in-store” for release day.
The final option may sound obvious, but Amazon is a great place to pre-order Chaos Rising, once the page is live. It’s likely to be over MSRP due to popularity and inflated costs, but it’s a reliable option if other stores are out of stock.
Here’s a tip from someone who’s very experienced in at least trying to pick up the latest Pokemon products – if you’re buying Chaos Order for release week, just pick one product and go all in. Don’t spread yourself too thin trying to get anything, you’ll likely miss out on everything.
If there’s a particular Chaos Rising card that you’re after, but you’re not trying to complete your collection, consider buying the single from TCGPlayer. While you don’t get the rush of buying and ripping cards, you might save more money in the long run.
