One killed, three injured in Jackson shooting

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police are investigating after one person was killed and three others were injured during a shooting.

The shooting occurred in the 5600 block of Dogwood Trail around 11:00 p.m. on August 30, 2025.

Detective Tommie Brown, with the Jackson Police Department (JPD), said officers discovered Roosevelt Denson, Jr., 48, deceased at the scene. He suffered at least one gunshot wound.

The three other victims were transported to local hospitals for treatment.
