Independence closed in southeast Charlotte after crash injures six people: Medic

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Six people are injured after a crash on Independence Boulevard in southeast Charlotte, according to Medic.

Around 1 p.m. on Saturday, Queen City News saw first responders in the outbound lanes of Independence Blvd near Krefeld Drive, close to Matthews. Medic said one person is suffering life-threatening injuries, and the other five people have non-life-threatening injuries.

It’s unclear what led to the crash.

Medic confirmed that the outbound lanes of Independence will be closed from East W.T. Harris Blvd to Calibre Crossing Drive until further notice.
