Join blacksmiths at Washington State Park for free hands-on workshop

WASHINGTON, Arkansas (KTAL/KMSS) — Join Historic Washington State Park blacksmiths and the Four State Iron Munchers blacksmithing club for Junior Apprentice Day on September 6.

Participants can apply skills they learn from various blacksmiths while working on projects at forges set up next to the James Black Shop.

This event is free and open to all ages. Reservations are required. Call the park visitor center at (870) 983-2684.

Historic Washington State Park is a restoration village whose design aims to recreate the Arkansas town as it was in the 19th century. Daily tours are provided to sites and museums such as the B.W. Edwards Weapons Museum and Blacksmith Shop.
