Enrollment up 6% at Kentucky’s community and technical colleges

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — Enrollment is up at Kentucky’s community and technical colleges.

More than 70,000 students have signed-up so far this fall. That’s over a six percent  jump from last year. The students come from all 120 counties in Kentucky.

Officials expect enrollment to top 85,000 before the semester is over.

Leaders say the community college system plays a big role in filling work-force gaps with more than 100 programs in high-demand fields like, healthcare, manufacturing and IT.
