Judge dismisses lawsuit against MN PFAS ban
A federal judge has thrown out a lawsuit that tried to stop a ban on so-called “forever chemicals” in Minnesota.
The chemicals, known as PFAS, are no longer allowed in products like cookware, carpets and cosmetics thanks to a state law that went into effect in January.
Days after that law took effect, the Cookware Sustainability Alliance filed a lawsuit that argued the measure “discriminates against out-of-state commerce.”
The judge rejected that argument, saying the law applies equally to manufacturers in and out of Minnesota, and dismissed the lawsuit.
