Former San Jose fire captain celebrates 106th birthday
(KRON) — It was another milestone birthday for a former San Jose Fire Department captain. Sam Seibert celebrated his 106th birthday on Tuesday, SJFD posted on social media.

Seibert — born Aug. 26, 1919 — served in the Navy during World War II and later joined SJFD in 1946. The war veteran worked at SJFD for 30 years before retiring in 1976.

A party was thrown for Seibert at a fire station in San Jose.

“He continues to inspire us all with his passion for the fire service. He also helped bring the San José Fire Museum to life — preserving our history for future generations,” the fire department wrote in a Facebook post. “Cheers to 106 incredible years, Captain Seibert!”

The fire department posted photos of the celebration on social media (see above).
