European Wine Giants Pour Into TEXSOM 2025

IRVING (KDAF) — AOP Languedoc and DO Rías Baixas, two prominent wine regions from Europe, will showcase their wines at TEXSOM 2025, held from August 24 to 26 at the Irving Convention Center in Texas.

These regions are known for their unique terroir-driven wines, with AOP Languedoc offering a diverse range of red, white, and rosé wines from Southern France, and DO Rías Baixas specializing in the Albariño grape from Galicia, Spain.

AOP Languedoc, established in 2007, is the largest appellation in the Languedoc wine region, covering 24,000 acres from Nîmes to the Spanish border. The region’s commitment to sustainability and biodiversity is reflected in its environmental certifications.

DO Rías Baixas, founded in 1988, is renowned for its Albariño wines, which thrive in the mineral-rich soils of Galicia. The region’s cool, Atlantic climate is ideal for producing fresh, aromatic white wines.

At TEXSOM, attendees can participate in a wine and pairing competition hosted by AOP Languedoc, featuring advanced Sommelier Alisha Blackwell-Calvert. The winner will receive a scholarship for continuing education.

DO Rías Baixas will offer tastings of its Albariño wines, poured by Master Sommelier Dave Yoshida, allowing attendees to explore the unique expressions of this celebrated grape.

TEXSOM 2025 presents a unique opportunity for wine professionals to experience the distinct flavors and qualities of wines from AOP Languedoc and DO Rías Baixas, enhancing their understanding of these dynamic European regions.
