Western Kentucky shooting near high school football stadium injures 1

MAYFIELD, Ky. (FOX 56) — What should have been a celebration of Friday night lights in Mayfield was cut short by gunfire near a football stadium, according to law enforcement.

The Mayfield Police Department posted on Facebook that it happened on the night of Aug. 22 in a parking lot adjacent to War Memorial Stadium during the fourth quarter of a football game between Mayfield High School and Graves County High School.

One person was reportedly taken to the Jackson Purchase Medical Center by emergency personnel before being flown to Nashville for treatment.
