Abilene exhibit features portraits of Texas kids for adoption
ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – More than 6,000 children in Texas wait to be adopted. A new exhibit in Abilene is aiming to make that number a little smaller.

The Center for Contemporary Arts unveiled Portraits of Hope: See the Heart Capture the Future, part of the Heart Gallery of Northwest Texas. The exhibit features professional portraits of children in the state’s foster care system, captured by volunteer photographers to help connect them with prospective adoptive families.

“Being a host of an exhibit—if you have a space or an event where we could set up—helps get these kids seen and increases their chances of adoption,” said the Park Gallery Coordinator for 2INgage. “If you have something fun for our kids that can be done and want to host it, that would be fabulous.”

The exhibit will remain on display through mid-October at the Center for Contemporary Arts in downtown Abilene.
