Lubbock ISD can confirm that Jeremy Maxwell is no longer employed by the district. In April of 2024, we were notified that a former student made claims that they had an inappropriate relationship when she was a student. The district immediately placed him on leave, fully cooperated with law enforcement officials, and notified the State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC). Jeremy resigned in June of 2024. The safety of our students is our highest priority, and we are cooperating with all relevant authorities. We cannot provide further comment on this ongoing personnel matter.
Statement from Lubbock ISD
As of Thursday, Maxfield remained at the jail on a combined $150,000 bond. Maxfield began working at Lubbock High School in 2007 and resigned in June of 2024.
