Bluefield University hosts Community Fair

BLUEFIELD, VA (WVNS) – Bluefield University hosted a Community Fair for their “Welcome Week.”

At this community fair, new and returning students could sit in the lawn and chow down as some freshly prepared food. Community members also brought resources for the students.

Corey Mullins, Vice President of Student Development and Athletics, says getting out and getting to know your community is vital.

“We have a lot of students that don’t that aren’t from this area, and so they come from metropolitan areas like Richmond and Charlotte. So just when we first moved to Bluefield, it’s important, first time to to meet people, meet people, community. This is just a little taste of what we have to offer our students while they’re here,” said Mullins.

Mullins says the goal is to make ‘Welcome Week’ a great time for the new students.
Different activities are scheduled throughout the week to make students feel at home.
