According to a new study from SleepJunkie, some Hoosiers are willing to pay more than $150 for one guaranteed good night’s sleep.
SleepJunkie’s study provided a breakdown of the counties in which Hoosiers are willing to pay the most for one good night’s sleep. Hamilton County clocked in at No. 1 on the list with residents willing to pay $151.63 for a good night’s sleep. Hendricks, Boone, Johnson and Porter counties rounded out the top five, as resident in those counties indicated they were willing to pay $144.69, $140.01, $133.43 and $131.79, respectively, for one guaranteed night of perfect sleep.
SleepJunkie’s study indicated that the average Hoosier is willing to pay $122.09 for a perfect night’s sleep. The county with Hoosiers willing to pay the least for sleep, according to SleepJunkie, is Blackford County. Residents there indicated they’d pay around $100.41 for a good night’s sleep.
The bottom five Indiana counties on SleepJunkie’s list are rounded out by Crawford, Martin, Perry and Pike. The study indicates that most residents in those counties aren’t willing to pay more than $105 for a guaranteed perfect night of sleep.
SleepJunkie surveyed more than 3,000 people during its study. The sleep advice resource company indicated that most respondents reported that they wake up feeling fully refreshed just three days a week. SleepJunkie did not indicate exactly what percentage of respondents reported that they only wake up feeling refreshed three days a week.
SleepJunkie’s study also reported that 53% of respondents said they would take a 5% pay cut for perfect sleep every night for a year. About 46% of respondents indicated that they would trade their next planned vacation for a perfect week of sleep.
SleepJunkie reported that half of those surveyed indicated that they’ve cried from sheer exhaustion. Approximately 23% of respondents indicated that they can’t remember the last time they felt fully rested three days in a row.

Overall, SleepJunkie’s study found that Americans are willing to pay about $130.20 on average for a perfect night of sleep. Respondents from Hawaii indicated they were willing to pay more than respondents from any other state for a good night’s sleep. Respondents from Hawaii reported that they were willing to pay $286.44 for a good night’s sleep.
