The league aims to expand opportunities for young girls — particularly those from communities that have historically faced barriers to sports participation — to play soccer, according to a statement from Bay FC. It is expected to begin in 2026.
Bay FC will formally announce the new league on Wednesday alongside Bay FC players Rachel Hill and Leah Freeman, credit card company Visa, which will support the league, and the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco.
The event will take place at 4 p.m. at the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco’s Columbia Park Clubhouse in the Mission District.
