Woman arrested for drug smuggling at Grant Parish Prison

GRANT PARISH, La. (WNTZ) – A Many woman was arrested after investigators say she tried to smuggle drugs into a federal prison in Grant Parish.

According to the Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrested Franchessca Deshay Smith, 37, on charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of synthetic marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and taking contraband into a penal institution.

The arrest followed an investigation by the sheriff’s office.

Smith was booked into the Grant Parish Detention Center.
