GRAND COTEAU, La. (KLFY) — The chief of the Grand Coteau Fire Department, Riley Grisham, said he has been fired by the town’s mayor, Patrick Richard.

In a post on his Facebook page, Grisham said he is “heartbroken” that Richard has fired him after 8 years with the department.
“I am crushed by this decision as I love GCFD and I love the Town of Grand Coteau,” Grisham said. “This not only was a job for me, it was a passion.”
Grisham said he was fired effective immediately, and will not volunteer for the department.
Richard declined to comment, but told News 10 that he would issue a statement on the matter later.
