TEXARKANA, Texas (KTAL/KMSS) – A “27 Dresses” party with live music from Split Decision is being hosted by the Texarkana Regional Arts and Humanities Council (TRAHC).

“TRAHC invites their members to dig through their closet and find the outfit they never had a reason to wear for a celebration of TRAHC’s growth!” a press release stated. “Whether it’s a sequined tuxedo, your 80s prom dress, or a scuba suit, this is the night to give it one more spin.”

The party is exclusive to TRAHC members and their guests 21 and older. It will be held on Friday, August 22, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in TRAHC’s ArtSpace, 518 Pine St. in Texarkana, TX.

“This is an opportunity for our members to bring a friend and show them the fun and connection that comes with being a TRAHC member,” said TRAHC Executive Director Jennifer Unger. “We’ve grown and opened a lot of doors for creativity and collaboration in the community recently, and this event is the perfect way to celebrate and welcome more people into that vision!”

TRAHC memberships start at $50/year and include member-exclusive events, such as this one, along with discounts and early registration for workshops and performances. To learn more or join, go to givebutter.com/Fb0FUo.

“Supporting the arts matters to me because creativity connects people in a way nothing else can,” said TRAHC board member and Split Decision musician Selena Jefferies. “Music, painting, pottery, theatre, and other expressions aren’t just hobbies, but the heartbeat of a community. As a musician, I’ve seen how art inspires, heals, and brings people together. Our goal is to create a celebration of music, art, and community, where every moment feels electric and everyone feels part of the experience.”
