Oregon woman arrested for DUI after ditch crash in Byron

BYRON, Ill. (WTVO) — An Oregon woman was arrested on drunk driving charges after police say she crashed her car Saturday morning.

The Ogle County Sheriff’s Office reported the arrest of Octavia Wynn, 31, who investigators said was driving a black Chrysler 300 “all over the roadway,” according to 911 callers around 8:17 a.m.

Wynn’s vehicle was reportedly found in the east side ditch in the 4000 block of N. German Church Road.

Police said Wynn had been driving southbound when she entered the northbound lane and landed in the east ditch.

She was charged with improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, possession of cannabis by a driver in a vehicle, and driving under the influence of alcohol.

Wynn was taken to the Ogle County Jail and then released on a notice to appear at a future court date.

There were no injuries reported.
