Four courts will be located in Seale, Alabama at the Russell County Sports Complex.
The other two will be in Ladonia.
Russell County Commissioner Chairman, Chance Corbett says the courts have been in the works for several months after receiving funding.
Corbett says the $600,000 has been allocated for the courts.
“They’re going to be first class”, Corbett says.
Once the concrete cures, the courts will be painted, design will be added, fencing and nets will be put in place.
Corbett says people can’t wait for the courts to be open. He says people have already offered to teach pickleball classes.
“The comments have been great,” Corbett says. “People…can’t wait to see this [and are] so glad and knowing that we’re doing it professionally, we didn’t come out here and throw up something and try to make it work.”
“We actually have gone out, researched it, try to make it look as good as we could,” Corbett adds.
The courts are set to open in October.
