Suspected drug mule arrested at Dulles with 23 pounds of marijuana: Authorities
LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — Airport authorities said they arrested a suspected drug mule for the second time in three days at Dulles International Airport (IAD), seizing nearly two dozen pounds of marijuana in the process.

Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) Police officers said 27-year-old Octavious Lamar Dozier, of Atlanta, Ga., is facing felony charges after he tried to transport the marijuana in his UK-bound luggage.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers were inspecting checked baggage being loaded onto a Dublin-bound flight on Aug. 5 and found numerous vacuum-sealed packages inside a suitcase.

Dozier was intercepted at the departure gate and escorted to CBP’s inspection station.

Officers said they found a total of 14 vacuum-sealed packages inside the suitcase, which field-tested positive for marijuana. It weighed 23 pounds and had a street value of about $90,000 — which could fetch two or three times more in Europe.

Dozier was charged with transporting a controlled substance into the Commonwealth and possession with intent to distribute.
