“Lightning struck a tree adjacent to the building sending an electrical surge through the sprinkler system and starting a small fire inside the building,” a spokeswoman for Stormont Vail Health said. “The fire was quickly contained, but there was smoke throughout the building. We are closed this week to allow for clean-up and smoke remediation.”
TOPEKA (KSNT) – A Topeka healthcare clinic will be closed on Monday after it reported it was struck by lightning.
On Monday Aug. 11, Cotton O’Neil Pediatric Clinic is closed after building issues caused by lightning striking the building at 4100 SW 15th St.
Stormont Vail Heath reports that its other clinic, Cotton O-Neil Pediatric Clinic Mission Woods location found at 2860 SW Mission Woods Drive, remains open as usual.
