By rssfeeds-admin Deputies responded to the 100 block of Finch Road after 5:30 a.m. on August 13. Investigators said a deceased individual was discovered at the scene. The victim has not been identified.
According to deputies, a person of interest was identified and a Be On the Lookout (BOLO) was issued. They said Lucedale police, along with George County deputies, later conducted a traffic stop and detained the individual. The person was taken into custody and has not been identified.
“We want the public to know that this was an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to the community. Thanks to the swift cooperation between our deputies and the Lucedale Police Department, we were able to take a person of interest into custody quickly. We will continue to pursue every lead to ensure justice is served for the victim and their loved ones,” said George County Sheriff Mitchell Mixon.
