By rssfeeds-admin Investigators say at approximately 10:30 p.m., Lanett Police responded to the 300 block of North 12th Court after reports of a shooting. When officers arrived, they encountered a large crowd in the area and located the victim, identified as Alexander Stevenson, suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso.
Stevenson was transported to East Alabama Medical Center-Lanier, where he was later pronounced dead.
The Lanett Police Department, with assistance from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency and the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences, is investigating.
