Three charged in connection with violent armed robbery at Rockford housing complex

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Two teens were arrested for an armed robbery and aggravated assault over the weekend, and another man was charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

According to Rockford Police, officers were called to a reported armed robbery at the Rockford Ridge (formerly Concord Commons) housing development, in the 300 block of Cameron Avenue.

Police were notified that the suspects in the armed robbery ran inside a nearby apartment.

Inside, authorities found items that had been reported stolen.

One 17-year-old male was charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, obstructing justice, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct.

A second 17-year-old perpetrator was charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, obstructing justice, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and criminal trespass.

Armonie Cooper, 21, faces charges of conspiracy to commit armed robbery. He was booked into the Winnebago County Jail.
