ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — A suspect in an armed robbery was arrested after police said he crashed a stolen car following the robbery.
Rockford Police’s Specialized Community Oriented Policing Enforcement (SCOPE) officers attempted a traffic stop on Logan Nolan, 20, around 5:55 p.m. on Saturday, June 14th.
Police said Nolan was driving a car that was reported as stolen, which was involved in an armed robbery earlier in the day.
Authorities tried to stop Nolan at S. Main and Cedar, but he fled and crashed later at Church and Jefferson.
Nolan escaped from the car and ran, but was pursued by and detained by officers.
Authorities said a loaded handgun and drugs were found on him at the time of his arrest.
Nolan was charged with armed robbery, aggravated robbery, possession of a stolen vehicle, aggravated fleeing to elude, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, resisting arrest, hit and run, and possession of cannabis.
He was booked into the Winnebago County Jail pending a pretrial release hearing.
