BOX ELDER COUNTY, Utah (
ABC4) — The Perry Fire, located on Forest Service lands in Box Elder County, is now fully contained, according to Utah Fire Info.
The fire, which started on Friday, Aug. 8, was burning in heavy timber and mixed conifer. The blaze was reportedly visible from I-15 in Box Elder County, causing multiple people to report the fire to authorities.
Located five miles southwest of Mantua Reservoir, fire crews were able to establish fire lines and extinguish hotspots on the fire over the following two days. The fire was mapped at just over five acres.
Sunday night, fire officials reported that the wildfire was 100% contained. See photos of the incident below:

This year has seen 42,342 fires so far — the highest of the last 10 years in this time period, according to the National Interagency Fire Center. The 10-year average number of fires in this period is 35,353.
Widespread critical conditions have affected much of the Great Basin, central Rockies, and Four Corners.
