By rssfeeds-admin AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WJBF) – Shortly after midnight Saturday, the Aiken County Coroner’s Office was dispatched to the intersection of Powell Pond Road and Scotch Lane to investigate the death of an Aiken man following a golf cart accident.
The driver of an EZ-GO golf cart was going west on Powell Pond Road, when the golf cart went off the left side of the road, and crashed into a ditch ejecting the driver.
The driver of the golf cart, identified as 86-year-old Ronald New, was pronounced deceased on the scene at 1:10 a.m. from blunt force injuries.
The coroner’s office along with South Carolina Highway Patrol are continuing with the investigation.
Toxicology analysis are pending.
