The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook that around 3 a.m. on Aug. 9, deputies were searching for Kyle Hicks, 30, who was allegedly a suspect in a recent burglary. He was also known to have warrants for his arrest.
When law enforcement arrived at Hicks’ residence and came to the front and back entrances, he noticed them and allegedly ran out the front door.
While chasing Hicks, one of the deputies reportedly deployed a taser. Officials didn’t say whether or not Hicks was tased, but he was brought to the ground and arrested.
Hicks was charged with second-degree fleeing or evading police on foot and resisting arrest. In connection with multiple warrants, he was additionally charged with:
He was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center on a $500 cash bond. The burglary investigation remains ongoing.
