Alligator rescued from Bucks County lake
BRISTOL TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WPHL) — A small alligator spotted in Magnolia Lake on Thursday has been captured, Bucks County officials announced Friday.

Bucks County Park Rangers received the animal around 10:30 p.m. Thursday from Kyle Asplundh of Jupiter Alligator and Wildlife Sanctuary. Asplundh, a Florida resident who grew up in Bucks County, captured the male alligator near Magnolia Lake. Park Rangers took the four-foot reptile into custody without incident.

According to a news release, Asplundh spoke with Rangers and said he would like to take the animal with him to live at his alligator sanctuary in Florida. The reptile was returned to Asplundh Friday morning.

“We are happy to report that the alligator seen [Thursday] in Magnolia Lake has been safely captured by a person who has experience with these animals,” said Park Ranger Chief Patrick Durkin. “Bucks County Parks and Recreation and the Park Rangers thank Mr. Asplundh for his help in bringing this unusual incident to a close, as well as Bristol Township Police for their assistance.”

Officials are unsure how the alligator ended up in the Bristol Township lake, as the reptile is not native to Pennsylvania.
