ACSO resurfaces decades-old Castro Valley nightclub stabbing cold case
(KRON) — The Alameda County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help to solve an almost 30-year-old fatal stabbing at a Castro Valley nightclub.

ACSO said Bhupinder Kumar (also known as Bobby) was 31 when he was stabbed multiple times in his chest on Aug. 8, 1998, following an argument at Muggs Night Club.

“Witnesses stated that Bhupinder and the suspect exchanged words in the parking lot, and the suspect left with a woman,” said deputies in a social media post. “The suspect came back less than a minute later, and an altercation ensued with Bhupinder.”

Investigators confirmed the suspect is described as a Hispanic man, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing between 150 and 170 pounds.

Bhupinder’s alleged killer “was picked up in a dark colored SUV type vehicle driven by a Black female and fled in an unknown direction,” said the sheriff’s office.

The motive and circumstances behind the incident have not been determined.
