(WPHL) – This weekend (August 8 and 9) is set to be jam-packed with events like the Port Richmond Pierogi Fest, Peach Festival, 3rd Annual Cemita Festival, the continuation of the Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival in Franklin Square, Parks on Tap, outdoor movie screenings, and much more. Port Richmond Pierogi Fest:
- Saturday, August 9 from 12-5 p.m.
- Head to Campbell Square for a day filled with delicious pierogies, live music, and fun activities for the whole family.
- Indulge in a variety of pierogi flavors from traditional potato and cheese to unique combinations like bacon and cheddar or spinach and feta. There will also be food trucks serving up other tasty treats.
- The event is FREE to attend, and food is pay-as-you-go.
Philly Shih Tzu’s first official meetup:
- Saturday, August 9, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Boozy Mutt

Peach and sunflower festival at Linvilla Orchards at Peddler’s Village:
- August 9 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Pick-Your-Own tickets include a hayride to and from the field, and an empty container to fill with fruit or vegetables! Each person over 11 months who would like to go out to the pick-your-own fields requires a ticket.
3rd Annual Cemita Festival at Cantina la Martina:
- August 10 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Taste test cemitas from various participating restaurants in the 3rd annual Cemita Festival. Cemita’s will be $15.
- The festival is FREE, and food is pay-as-you-go.
Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival in Franklin Square returns through August 31:
- For 2025’s Year of the Snake, the Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival in Franklin Square will showcase magnificent giant lighted sculptures crafted from steel frames and wrapped in vibrant silk, blending light and culture. The popular 200-foot-long dragon returns along with never-before-seen giant lantern displays, with more lights, more lanterns, and more wattage than ever before. Visitors will embark on a magical journey through enchanting forest-themed displays and a radiant underwater realm, where lanterns and interactive delights showcase the splendor of China’s culture alongside diverse wildlife and vibrant marine wonders.
- Tickets start at $16 and go up to $29 depending on age and day of visit.

- Parks on Tap began on April 9 with 20+ parks on the schedule.
- On the menu, there is everything from an Adult Lunchable to a Loaded Mexican Hot Dog, and Cauliflower Banh Mi, to drinks including Hibiscus Lemonade, Spicy Mango Margarita, as well as Philly favorite drafts, cans, and more.
