Brentwood vandal targeted women alone in parking lots, police say

(KRON) — A 48-year-old man targeted women who were alone in various Brentwood parking lots, according to police. The Brentwood Police Department is now looking for more victims of the man, identified as Arpy Yap of Daly City.

In each incident connected to Yap, he allegedly slashed tires on the victim’s vehicle while it was parked and waited nearby for the victim to return to her car, BPD said.

When the female driver returned and realized that her tires were deflated, Yap appeared shortly after and offered “assistance” in exchange for money, BPD said. The vandal pretended to be a helpful person by offering to fix tires that he had secretly slashed, investigators said.

Arpy yap is seen in a mugshot released by the brentwood police department.

Yap drives a blue Volkswagen Touareg with a roof rack, police said. On Thursday, police released Yap’s mugshot and a photo of his Volkswagen in an effort to find any additional victims or witnesses who may have information.
