Brentwood police arrest middle school student who had firearm in backpack: police

(KRON) — A middle school student in Brentwood was arrested after a firearm was found in their backpack on Tuesday morning, the Brentwood Police Department (BPD) announced in a press release. Around 8:15 a.m., Adams Middle School staff was notified about a student in possession of a firearm.

BPD was contacted and then dispatched to the campus. Upon investigation, the firearm was determined to be real, and the student was booked into juvenile hall, authorities said.

Police are calling this firearm found on campus “an isolated incident.”

BPD did not release any other information about the incident.

“We are working closely with Adams Middle School, the District, and the involved parents, to determine the circumstances surrounding this incident,” Brentwood police wrote in the press release.

BPD said anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the department at 925-809-7911.
