The flights being grounded are all their “mainline flights,” United said in a statement to KRON4. The airline said it is holding its flights at their departing airports, which include SFO.
“We expect additional flight delays this evening as we work through this issue. Safety is our top priority, and we’ll work with our customers to get them to their destinations,” the airline said.
There is no estimated timetable for when the outage will end. No other information was immediately available.
KRON4 has a crew heading to SFO to gather more information. Check back for updates.
