Registered sex offender arrested in Lenoir for alleged child exploitation

CALDWELL COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Detectives from the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a Lenoir home following multiple cyber tips from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Evidence obtained during the search warrant discovered that James Wayne Hamm Jr, a registered sex offender, has been uploading what appeared to be inappropriate images of underage children.

Hamm was arrested and charged with two counts of third-degree exploitation of a minor. He is currently being held in the Caldwell County Detention Center under a $200,000 bond.
