The fatal crash occurred on Lilly Road around 12:40 a.m. on August 3. According to the sheriff, three vehicles were involved in the crash. Swilley said two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision.

One driver, Ken’Zavion Brown, 18, was pronounced deceased at the scene, and another was transported to the Copiah County Medical Center and then airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) in Jackson.

While responding to the scene, the sheriff said four volunteer firefighters were assaulted at the scene. He said one firefighter pressed charges against Davis, who is the father of the Brown.

After deputies cleared the accident scene, the sheriff said they made contact with the driver of the third vehicle.
