SB lanes of Dan Ryan Expressway cleared after being closed at 95th Street early Tuesday morning due to series of crashes

CHICAGO — All southbound lanes on the Dan Ryan Expressway at 95th Street were closed early Tuesday morning after two cars crashed and the driver of one of those cars was then hit by a passing vehicle after getting out of the car.

Traffic was getting by on the right shoulder, according to Illinois State Police, before the crash scene was cleared around 6:30 a.m.

ISP said the incident happened around 1:45 a.m., and it started when one car was hit by another that did not stop. The driver of the car that was hit then stepped out of the car and was hit by a passing vehicle, according to ISP.

The person that was hit, along with the driver and passengers of the vehicle that hit that person, were all taken to an area hospital with injuries, according to ISP.
