The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation released the photo below of Drummond moments after he was taken into custody.
This comes after a shelter-in-place alert was issued for those in Jackson, Tennessee, on Tuesday morning, when the Jackson Police Department said Drummond was spotted.
Officers made a social media post saying, “Due to the sighting of suspect Austin Drummond in the area of Saddlebrook Drive and Bridlepath Drive, please shelter in place immediately.”
The area of Pleasant Plains and Country Club is also temporarily blocked off, police say.
During the shelter-in-place, police say residents should keep windows and doors locked, remain indoors, and avoid unnecessary travel.
Suspicious activity can be reported to Jackson Police at 731-425-8400.
On Monday, Union University was placed on lockdown, and officers were seen nearby as the search continued for Drummond.
Several officers were seen blocking streets near Pleasant Plains Extension and Oil Well Road.
Drummond has been on the run since last Tuesday, when the bodies of four family members were found in Lake County. His car was found in Jackson on Friday, and law enforcement thinks he could be in the area.
Police say Drummond was seen on a citizen’s camera system in the 700 block of Pipkin Road on Sunday night. They released two surveillance videos showing Drummond wearing camouflage clothing and a backpack, and carrying a rifle. In one video, he attempts to open a door.
