Homemade explosive safely detonated in Mississippi

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A homemade explosive was safely detonated Monday night south of Batesville, the Panola County Sheriff’s Office said.

The device was found as a result of a search warrant in the area of Highway 35 South and Morrow Road.

It was detonated to render it safe by the ATF and Tupelo Bomb Squad.
