Man pulled from Kings River near Pine Flat Lake later dies

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A man was pulled from the Kings River south of Pine Flat Lake Sunday afternoon and was later pronounced dead, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office announced.

Just before 3 p.m., deputies say a man in his 30s was in the Kings River at Winton Park when he went underwater.

Investigators report two people found him and pulled him to shore, where he was eventually administered CPR by first responders.

Deputies say he was later pronounced deceased after being transported to a local hospital. He has not been identified.

Detectives report the man was not wearing a life jacket and was drinking alcohol before entering the water.
