1 person is dead after drowning in Fresno County river
FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – One person is dead after drowning in the Kings River in Frenso County on Saturday.
According to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, the drowning took place at around 4:30 p.m. near Pine Flat Lake. A friend of the victim told deputies that the victim was swimming and then disappeared from view.
Deputies estimate the victim was in the water for 30 to 45 minutes before he could be pulled from the river. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation. The identity of the drowning victim has not been officially released.
